So, help us out here – where exactly do Serbians park their cars at the end of the day? It can’t be in a garage, because judging by the amount of fuzzed out noise coming out of this Balkan country, their garages are packed to the brim with inspiring and aspiring rock bands, beating their drum kits and wielding their guitars with a vengeance.

Šajzerbiterlemon are one such garage dweller, with an impressive, impulsive intensity to their furious rocking out. They’ve been around for a few years, long enough to have gained the respect of veterans such as Repetitor, and be hailed as flag bearers of the burgeoning Belgrade rock scene by critics seeking the next big thing, but not long enough to have lost that new car smell, full of promise and excitement to come.

The classic rock trio’s first full-length album ‘Iza naših zidova’, released by Croatian indie label Geenger in 2019, fulfilled the potential of their earlier debut EP and quickly went into heavy rotation among fans of shouty, raw, no-holds-barred riffing and rocking. It also established the band as a fixture on the regional showcase circuit, amping up audiences all over the place with their in-your-face intensity.

Having presumably spent an inordinate amount of time noodling around in their garage, Šajzerbiterlemon emerged from lockdown armed with a new album. Judging by the lead single ‘Strepnja’, we’re in for a broader sonic palette but no less menace, a heavy stomper of a rock record that parks itself wherever it pleases, thankyouverymuch.
