Broken, futuristic electronics

" A balance of crushing sound and social undertones "

Rein’s music is an example of a distinct sound, a type of electronic mood in which sensitive vocals do not interfere, but instead complement the distinct beats. In fact, it’s hard to classify her works into a specific genre, as her compositions intertwine broken break beat in the best traditions of the underground British scene, complex synthesizer constructions with the futuristic vibe of cult act Kraftwerk, and chiselled dubstep with noticeable influences from post-punk and new wave.

Since debut album ‘REINCARNATED’, released in 2020, there has been a transformation into brand-new project ‘God Is A Woman’. Despite melancholy lyrics on the verge of recitative, this is very danceable music, perfect for both chamber club dance floors and big festivals (such as Roskilde Festival in Denmark and Trans Musicales de Rennes in France, where she performed in 2022). A significant role on the new release has been taken on by Frenchman Djedjotronic, who masterfully creates a sonic universe for Rein, thanks to years of production experience.

The artist hasn’t let go of the theme of female power since the beginning of her musical career. Recently, she explained why the new album has such a loud title: “I have always been fascinated by how powerful women are, that we can create life inside of our bodies. I am also fascinated by history and religion. Like why have we as women been so oppressed for such a long time, and still are to this day, I still can’t understand why. We should be the leaders of this world“.

Rein truly wants to change the world through her music, which can resonate with audiences both because of her exceptional sense of balance between the multiple variations of crushing electronica combined with her laconic vocals, where she often inserts catchy phrases with her beliefs, and the powerful social undertones that she has been building around her art for over seven years.
